Maybe there's some way to be sure it won't. Like trick your self-repair program into not fixing that. Or.. maybe the CR. It made a scan when you were hurt before, and that means there's a record of the damage, and maybe if that starts to happen it can undo what your self-repair does. I-I don't know.
