Giving or exchanging of sword-gift is the formal part of acknowleging a fere relationship... a rather tight sort of adoptive sibling thing. Think X and Zero - they'd probably qualify as fere. Waspy has only met Harpuia twice, and so the giving of such a thing looks like he's making fun of the seriousness of such a matter... a really hard thing on the Wasp, since he had a fere once before (now dead)... and has only recently been considering explaining the custom to Forte... Wish Steadfast-mun was on... I don like that poor Harpuia doesn't even know what he did wrong, and her chara could explain...))
