*He sounds resigned.* I know what you mean, Quick. But Metal deserves this chance. It'll be fine, Quick. you'll see. *The tone used for last bit definitely lacks the confidence that the words indicate...*

*Ballade nods enthusiastically* Uh huh! The longer it takes and the more help he needs to get it off the better! *he grins and laughs again* Bet we can find all kinds of things in the Nexus to dump on him!

*He looks over at the others, and it seems he wasn't ignoring the other conversation at all.* Gone isn't the same as hiding. I don't think he'd be gone. Where would he go?

But I know about hiding.

*He looks back to Crash and resumes chattering away as if he hadn't spoken to the others at all, and really was as simple-minded as he seemed to be.* There should be tar in the Nexus somewhere too. Or maybe Quint knows where to find tar. And we can dump that on Wind and then all kinds of other stuff.

*snicker* He'll look like a walking pile of garbage. Which he is.

Sometimes everything you can do isn't enough to save everyone. All you can do sometimes is keep trying and be glad when you can help anyone at all.

*Crash looks a bit confused at how quickly Ballade switches topics, but shrugs. He doesn't exactly want to explain that, in his universe, gone has a certain meaning when used in this sense. At least, among Wilybots it does.*

*He decides to go back to the more pleasant topic.* With all that the Nexus is supposed to be connected to, I'd be surprised if we couldn't find what we'd want to dump on him. *smirking* He sure is garbage.

*Flash is a bit surprised at how Ballade takes that part of the discussion. Then, he pauses to think about it, realizing this is just one of those differences. He looks uneasy.* I guess I don't, Air. If it's that bad...

*Quick nods at Air.* I know it will. It may take time, but it will be fine eventually... *Not that Quick is known for his patience...*

*He sighs.* I know that, Quint. We've had enough incidents where we could only do what we did for Flash to help. Once Wily had made a decision on scrapping someone, there was no real way to save them... *He doesn't even mention the fact that it was a miracle Flash's body was intact.*

*Air goes quiet, not really knowing what to say anymore. He then goes back to watching the progress indicator on the screen. Not too much longer until Metal is done. He shivers a little, scared of what the possibilities are.*

Uh huh! Which is why he oughtta look like garbage too. *Ballade snickers*

Tar will be great. It'll take him hours to get everything off. *He grins and laughs* He might have had to get help this time too, because of the bombs. If they left little bits of shrapnel where he can't reach, and someone else will have to take tweezers and... *Ballade just trails off into laughter*

*Quint's quiet for a while. That's the second time Ballade made an odd remark about gone and 'hiding' - the first time had been while having pancakes at Cole's. Cole had commented on Ballade's behaviour, saying she hadn't realised he was that far gone...*

*Of course, it wouldn't make any sense here, since he was the only other one present who remembered the way Ballade had been before the disaster of his first encounter with Megaman*

*Crash laughs on hearing about that.* Nice job with the shrapnel if it did that. Painful, annoying, and time consuming to deal with. He deserves every bit of it.

*Quick is starting to get a bit restless with the waiting that this is requiring. He fidgets a little bit, nervously. The wait is the worst of it.*

*Air watches as the repairs get closer and closer to completion. It feels like it's taking forever, if just because he's watching so carefully.* The repairs are nearly done guys. Get yourselves ready for anything when he does reactivate. Okay?

*Tango looked down at the ground. It would be better if Crash put her down now, even though she was reluctant to move, in case he needed his hands free or he needed to move*

*Crash carefully puts Tango down. Best to be ready, and having a cat in your hands isn't really ready.* Alright, Air.

*Flash stays quiet. He's note exactly sure he fully understands what he's preparing for, he just knows he is supposed to be.*

*Quick moves closer to the CR to wait for the reactivation. This could get a bit dangerous if Metal panics, even without weapons.*

*Air looks a bit nervous but quickly pulls himself together. Metal needs their help. No matter what happens, Metal will be taken care of. He's family. The CR finally begins raising the grate, repairs completed.*

*Metal's systems reactivate slowly, and he begins to realize that he's working again. He's confused a bit, if just because it seems like some time has gone by since he was last aware. A few days actually. Metal carefully checks his systems over to see that he is in control at the moment. Wind must have decided to disable the chip for more of his 'fun'. Metal doesn't even bother trying to move; he just stays put, whimpering quietly. The only way the chip is ever disabled is if he's restrained or going to be used in one of Wind's little games. No point in trying to resist anymore, since he can't stop any of it.*

*Tango cautiously pads over, places both front paws on the side of the CR, and purrs at Metal*

*Quint fidgets sligtly before speaking, quietly.* It's ok, oniisan. The chip is gone.

*Ballade smiles. Metal wasn't moving, but he was making some sounds, which was a good sign. Ballade knew it was possible to 'hide' deep enough to where you didn't make any sounds at all. Quint had a friend like that. One of Nana's little sisters.*

*Crash looks a bit nervous about doing anything to upset Metal. He was expecting some real reaction on the reactivation, not Metal just staying still like that. It is rather creepy actually.*

*Flash takes a few nervous steps backwards, not sure how to react. This wasn't the Metal that he remembered...*
