*It's autumn here now, and the large rose garden is still stubbornly in bloom even though the leaves have changed color. The weather is clear and the sky blue with only a few wispy white clouds. Sometimes prehistoric Earth can be simply beautiful. But who has time to stop and look some days?*

Date: 2005-11-02 02:36 am (UTC)*nods, looking at Elec* I'll tell him.
*quietly* When did he even get the time to do all this. had to have been a good bit of work to put in...
(( Kinda figured that. Was assuming the display would be at least visible, even if the keyboard wasn't accessible. If this was an incorrect assumption, I could redo the post. ;) I'm going to need to remind myself that assuming is a bad thing in these situations. Moved this post cuz I noticed Elec's. :) ))

Date: 2005-11-02 02:56 am (UTC)*he looks up at the scans* That thing's wired in about as bad as the choke chips that are used where I'm from. The CR didn't have any trouble removing mine or Ballade's though.
*He couldn't have mentioned that about Ballade in the Nexus, where anyone could overhear, or with someone who still had to obey Dr. Wily present. But it was safe here*

Date: 2005-11-02 04:00 am (UTC)*blinks, a little surprised as his mind comprehends Quint's comment* Wily put things like that in you guys? All the fail-safes in us were simple enough. That's why I wasn't so concerned at the mess in Air earlier. Some of that was the remains of Air's.
*Quick shakes his head as he continues to cautiously check over what the scan picked up as damaged.*

Date: 2005-11-02 04:35 am (UTC)The fail-safes we had aren't anything that we could remove on our own. Some of it's in our programming. Hardcoded Laws, and other things that will activate the choke chip if you even think about disobeying.
And if you do manage to disobey, if you break the Laws, then you mindfreeze. Just lock up, and he'll catch you then. And then he'll mindwipe or reprogram you. There's no escape. None of us have ever really gotten away on our own, like you did. Ballade came the closest.
I was found in the Nexus in a pile of garbage after he threw me out. What was left of me, anyway. He'd spent years stripping me for parts while I was in the Gallery. And I was repaired after that.
I'm not sure how Ice managed. I just know that he mindfroze, so he must have broken one of the Laws, and then the CPS people had the programming failsafes removed and sent him somewhere Dr. Wily couldn't find him. I'm kind of worried he might still have the choke chip and tracker though.
And Ballade... Ballade's special. He broke the laws all on his own. And we used the CR to keep rebooting his systems until he beat the lockup too. But.. don't say anything in the Nexus about him, ok? You never know who might overhear there, and Dr. Wily doesn't know that Ballade won't have to obey him anymore.

Date: 2005-11-02 05:02 am (UTC)*frowns* I'm not sure which Wily is worse, they both are awful in their own ways it seems like.
*Quick works at the keyboard, going through the list of damaged parts, telling it what to not repair. He seems to pause at one part, the one that the chip is attached to, almost as though he's not sure if it should be fixed.*

Date: 2005-11-02 05:43 am (UTC)Or if he was busy, just using the remote for the choke chip and ordering you not to scream so he could get back to work without the noise to disrupt him.
*shivers* He left Ballade like that for a couple days after Ballade lost to Megaman the first time.
I think ours didn't scrap most of us, because then he wouldn't have us to hurt any more. *shakes head slightly* Yours is still worse, so far. It might be more of a tie soon, though.
*shakes his head a bit again and looks at the screen* You should be able to zoom in and you can tell it to just fix some parts of things if there's a problem with fixing the whole componant.

Date: 2005-11-02 06:23 am (UTC)*sighs before speaking softly* Well, at least with ours, the pain of punishments never lasted too long. I know. He usually made sure we saw the whole thing.
*Quick chuckles softly, trying to lighten things up a little, as he looks at the zoomed in image.* It's what the chip was actually fixing on its own. Fixing the flaws in it will more than likely restore some of Air's older memories, but I'm not so sure that it's a good idea...

Date: 2005-11-02 06:44 am (UTC)If he'll remember anyway, maybe it's better because he'll be somewhere safe when he does? I really don't know, Quick.
There are things I don't remember, but that just didn't record right to start with, so I never will. My brothers always told me after, though. Punk used to think it was funny. *shivers slightly*
Maybe you could ask him when he's awake and if he wants it fixed you could use the CR again to fix it.

Date: 2005-11-02 07:14 am (UTC)*Since that was the last of the stuff for the normal repairs, Quick changed his focus over to the removal of the chip and wiring Wind put in. He notes a few tiny chips connected into the wiring, nothing nearly the size of the main one. The hard part, however, seems to be making sure that none of the part that the chip is attached to gets removed with it.*
*dryly* Someone was trying to be clever, I think. Wind doesn't usually use more than a main chip for these things.

Date: 2005-11-02 07:46 am (UTC)*Quick does his best to try to calm himself down, before finishing setting the CR on what stuff needs to be removed. It was a bit hard for the chip, but he's fairly sure he got it right. He starts to double check everything else that he's done carefully.*

*softly mumbling to himself in an attempt to remind himself to control some of the anger he's been holding back* I cannot go after Wind. My brothers need me intact more than I need revenge.
(( Figured that. :) ))
