((RP Thread, Waspinator's Cave))

*It's autumn here now, and the large rose garden is still stubbornly in bloom even though the leaves have changed color. The weather is clear and the sky blue with only a few wispy white clouds. Sometimes prehistoric Earth can be simply beautiful. But who has time to stop and look some days?*

*Waspy warps in, immediately looking dizzy. Teleportation doesn't agree with TF gyrostabilizer systems at all. As soon as he recovers he goes into the cave and switches off the security system so that none of the autodefenses will react to unfamiliar visitors*

*as soon as he arrives, Quint darts over to the computer. He pulls a chair over to the keyboard so that he can reach it and switches the display from Predacon to German. Then he brings up the repair programs for the CR and overrides the automatic repair.*

*As soon as Quick arrives, he shifts his grip on Air a little bit, if just to make dropping him less likely. Quick pauses a second when he actually looks at the area around him before the weight of Air's body reminds him that he's here on business. He enters the cave as quickly as possible, looking around uncertainly.*

*As soon as Elec warps in he moves to help Quick with Air*

That's the CR over there. *Quint points to something that looks like an oversized alien hot tub, filled with an odd and somewhat silvery liquid* I've already overrode the automatic sequence so once he's in it we can run scans and then tell the computer exactly what to do.

It's not really water in there. It's some sort of suspension liquid for the nanites.

*smiles at Elec* Thanks. It can be a bit hard to move him. Usually Crash helps if I need him moved while offline.

*Quick looks a little bit skeptical at seeing what the CR looks like, but if Quint says it'll work, he'll trust that. He moves Air closer before pausing.* That thing looks odd, but if it'll work...

*Elec also gives the strange device an odd look as they move Air over to it* It makes you wonder where the rubber duck is, doesn't it.

Waspinator is not sure what happened to rubber duck.

*Elec isn't sure what to say to that. He hadn't expected an actual rubber duck to have anything to do with this.*

((If you haven't seen Beast Wars I could track down pics or type a descrip of the CR. There should be a lil grating thing that will lower Air into the liquid so they wouldn't have to just dump him over the side))

(( Please do, I dislike going blind like this. ;) Due to my parents idea of what TV was appropriate to a girl of my age at the time, I never got to watch the cool stuff. ))

((Having the darndest time finding a screencap of the thing. It really does look like a giant alien hot tub, so much that the Predacon leader used a spare one for a hot tub and would lounge in it with a rubber duck. It's metal, very techie-looking, and to these lil guys would be about the size of an aboveground backyard swimming pool.

Given some of Waspy's guests at times, there are probably makeshift steps near the side of the thing, like the chair Quint's using to reach the computer.

Luckily several eps have shown a grating that comes up to put the injured person on that lowers into or raises them out of the liquid inside. I doubt it's water, and gerenal accepted fanon is that it's a suspension liquid for the nanites the CR uses for repairs. The liquid also doesn't ever seem to leave the CR. My take on this is that the nanites won't go above the edge of the CR and 'swim' back to it when the grating is raised, so no worries about liquid staying on/in someone.

The liquid inside is translucent but sort of silvery, a bit too reflective for water. I blame that on the nanites. I'm still trying to find a picture))

*snickers at the stuff about the rubber duck* Elec, I like your sense of humor. Really.

*Quick notices a set of what looks like makeshift stairs. Well, as he sees it, even if that wasn't the intent, it's what he'll be using them for.* Come on, Elec. Let's get Air in that thing.

*He looks more carefully at it before feeling a little relieved on noticing the grating. The idea of throwing Air into this thing injured like he is right now just wouldn't sit that well with Quick.*

*Elec snickers as well, and grins at Quick* Well, there are reasons for that. I'm a bit surprised there actually was a rubber duck. *He looks over at Waspinator.* I might want to hear the story about that later.

*He nods and helps Quick get Air up the stairs and carefully moved onto the grating*

Is not much to say. Rex-bot liked to use spare CR as hot tub, and Rex-bot had rubber duck. Other Predacons all knew about it, was very funny, but never ever say anything to Rex-bot's face about duck.

*Quick laughs quietly at Waspinator's story. Once Air is on the grating, Quick steps back, looking a bit nervous.*

*starting to fidget a bit, having a hard time staying completely still from nervousness* Quint, what do we do now?

*Elec glances around the cave but, being a cave, it doesn't have any rafters or conveniant high spots to sit in*

*Quint waves them over to the computer* The computer controls what the CR does, and on manual setting there's a program that lets you tell it just what to do.

((the program Quint's brought up is an easy-use interface for the CR.
In this case, the CR would have scanned Air and there would be a scan on the screen. Scans can be rotated, zoomed in or out, etc. There would also be a listing of things the Pred computer thinks are damaged. It likely wouldn't know that the chip isn't supposed to be part of Air's systems, but it would notice those cut wires. It's easy enough to select things, explain to it, etc. And it won't actually repair anything without confirmation.
Think of it like a Windows program that doesn't crash. Easy point and click stuff. Predacons are used to setting up important systems to be used by a certain lowest common intelligence in the crew. ;)
In this case, it'd be a matter of selecting the chip, telling the computer that that does not belong there and needs removed. The computer might ask if the wires and connections to the chip should be removed as well (and should highlight which ones it means in the scan, and they'd be selectable, etc, and so on)
Anything it does remove it'll remove completely. The nanites work on a molecular level and would take the chip apart into its componant molecules and store the molecules away in whatever subspace it uses as supply storage. It can also fabricate parts (depending on how well stocked the materials storage is, and Waspy does a fairly decent job of that) and do other repairs.))

*Quick walks over to the computer, where Quint is waiting. He looks at the thing curiously, a little unsure of this thing still. Quick examines the scan carefully, frowning. The scan is picking up most of the damage he knew already existed, plus the damage from today's excitement. He hesitates a bit, not doing any more than looking at the scan silently.*

*Quint hops off the chair in case Quick would like to use it to reach the keyboard. He looks around for something else to stand on if he needs to.*

((shortest member of the Predacon crew was 5 ft tall, and most were taller. Waspy's probably around 8 ft tall, and would have set the computer up to a comfortable height for himself.))

*Elec suddenly cusses quietly, as his systems remind him of the time*

I have to go. Five minutes to a scheduled guard duty shift.

*He looks at Quick* When Air's feeling better, if he even remembers I was there... tell him I'm sorry that first shot didn't knock him out. I didn't want to hurt him.

*Quick jumps up on the now vacated chair to get access to the keyboard. He is a bit hesitant to just jump right into this, but he can at least figure out where all the chip's wiring is extended to.*

*nods, looking at Elec* I'll tell him.

*quietly* When did he even get the time to do all this. had to have been a good bit of work to put in...

(( Kinda figured that. Was assuming the display would be at least visible, even if the keyboard wasn't accessible. If this was an incorrect assumption, I could redo the post. ;) I'm going to need to remind myself that assuming is a bad thing in these situations. Moved this post cuz I noticed Elec's. :) ))
