*Quick looks a bit worried for a few seconds on hearing the cracking noises before he forces the concern from his expression.* Quint, trust me when I say the Air knows what he's doing. He's either breaking something that shouldn't be there or dealing with the fail-safes. We never did take them out of Flash. Too dangerous for him. Metal still has them too... *He looks at the picture in the book.* Interesting. They are definitely colorful.
*Air carefully checks things over before pulling out a few broken bits and closing the access panel. The rest of the damage looks to have been caused by being too close to one of Crash's bombs when it went off.* There. The parts are reinstalled now, guys. Just need to deal with the rest of the damage...
*Quint nods slightly. The failsafes in my world are more in our programming than hardware, except for the choke chip and the tracking device. Not something you can break that way.
*Ballade's still grinning, seemingly unconcerned* Uh huh. I like the colors, and the bright lights. My bombs kind of blow up like fireworks!
*One of the Ballade Crackers appears in his hand. It's a spherical explosive with a few smaller round explosive spheres attached to it.* See? The middle bit blows up, and then the outside bits blow up, kind of like fireworks. But with less colors, and more shrapnel.
*He starts to giggle, amused by something, and grins at the unarmed explosive* Wind's gonna be picking all these little bits out of himself with tweezers for hours!
*Terrorsaur glances back over, having tried to amuse himself with a game of table solitare, but already looking bored nearly out of his wits*
So, now it's time to put him in CR? *he stands up and walks over, ready to pick up and move Crash, and wishing Waspinator were awake to play 'nurse' so he could go out flying instead.*
*Quick shrugs.* Some is programming; some is hardware. It's a bit strange how the programming part fails rather easily if the hardware is destroyed... *He looks rather amused at the explanation from Ballade.* Ouch. That doesn't sound like it'll be pleasant. Just what Wind deserves. *Quick chuckles.* Alright Blues, thanks for the help. Bye.
*Crash is at the moment not really paying much attention to anything other than petting the cat.*
*Air sighs softly* Yes, Flash is ready. Quick, I hope you have an idea of how to explain everything to him, since I have no clue...
*Terrorsaur picks Flash up and carefully places him on the CR grating, which lowers as the device begins to scan*
((Since there's no comparison scan, it'd be like when Air was scanned, and he'll likely have to tell it where some of the damage it didn't 'guess' is :) ))
*Tango isn't paying attention to anything but being scritched. She's reverted to the strange, totally limp, purring state that, while normal for cats, seems almost surreal from a robotic cat in green armor*
*Quint nods slightly* I think it would be easier if we didn't have the choke chips, but even then it's not easy. Some of the others can bend the Laws sometimes, and Forte's almost broken all of them, I think. He doesn't seem to have Second or Third, and he's probably lucky Wily hasn't wiped him yet to reinstall them.
I only know of two in my universe that ever broke all the coding stuff on their own, without anyone else changing their programming to remove the sections of code related to the Laws. Blues, of course. And Ballade.
*Quick sighs, frowning at the reminder.* Honestly, I think that the Wily of my universe relied on the hardware to keep us in line more than the programming. I mean, once the hardware was dealt with, for a while I still had the urge to obey that programming, but between the lack of anything backing that up and what Wily did... *He trails off a little* It was the same with Crash. I'm not sure what happened with Air. *Quick looks a bit uneasy.* I just hope these two can break through what remains quickly.
*Air quickly returns to the chair he had been standing on before so that he can see what the scan says, and compare it to the repair information in his memory. He rather quickly gets to work on picking out what Wind added that needs removed. Seeing as dealing with that is just as important as dealing with the real damage.* Not too bad. I can tell it's Wind's work though. Not one of his usual designs, but definitely his style.
*There's the sound of an explosion, somewhere outside the cave and distant enough to not be an immediate concern. A moment later Ballade returns, minus the explosive*
Ok, no more bomb.
*He looks around for where he left his explosives book*
*The sound of the distant explosion makes Waspinator shift in his sleep... and results in him rolling off the pile of towels he was napping on, to land on his back in the floor, in wasp mode*
*He looks puzzled at what he sees when he wakes* Waspinator sees little xenos on ceiling...
*There's a slightly exasperated/amused tone to Terrorsaur's voice which shows that explaining blatantly obvious things to Waspinator is nothing new to him.*
*Quick shakes his head.* Probably more effective that way. As for them knowing they can't go back... That's the tough part. Flash will realize that he shouldn't go back, since he was supposed to be disassembled rather painfully. The programming will be telling him to go back anyways. I'm not really sure how Metal might react, other than the fact that he's going to take it badly when he does find out he can't go back. On top of the programming telling him to go back... This is going to be difficult.
*Crash looks a little surprised at the noise of the explosion and pauses a few seconds from petting Tango before deciding it's probably nothing important. On hearing the comment about them being on the ceiling, he smirks, resisting the urge to snicker.*
*Air continues going through finding all of Wind's additions to Flash's systems. Wiring, chips, and a bunch of little alterations. He also makes sure to tell it to leave the damage he just added to the fail-safes alone.*
*Quint frowns slightly, looking worried* Is there some way to make sure they won't teleport away until things are explained? And maybe we should be ready in case either of them need restrained.
*He doesn't say that he's more concerned about that being nessasary for Metal than for Flash, remembering what Air told him about Shadow - that there might not be anything sane left.*
We can't let them go back. It's not safe for them. And not safe for us either.
*He realises something, and almost smiles* Flash probably can't teleport back to the Castle. If it's been years, it wouldn't be in the same place he'd remember it, right? So that's one less thing to worry about.
*Quick pauses and thinks about something a few seconds before making a fast suggestion to Air.* Hey, Air, disable his teleporter in some way if you can. Otherwise he might not give us a chance to explain things.
*Air pauses in his work looking a little worried.* It wouldn't be hard I don't think... I could have part of the connection removed so he can't access it I think. Wouldn't be much harder than having it remove Wind's work. *He gets back to trying to pick things out to be removed, looking for the proper connection to sever.*
*Quick sighs, looking a bit nervous now.* Good. Even if Wily's not using that place anymore, someone is probably watching the remains... Flash shouldn't need restrained, and if he does, it won't be too bad. He's not exactly the strongest of us. Metal could be a lot harder...
We were never allowed to go back to the old places. The humans usually bombed them after each time, and had them under guard in case any of us came back. It would be really bad to be found that way, especially if he's already all confused.
*Quint manages a hopeful smile at Quick* It'll be ok. We won't let then go back there and be hurt. I think there are eniugh of us to stop them if we have to. *the smile becomes a little broader and he adds* If nothing else, Steadfast could pick them up.
