*Quick winces at the thought of Quint getting disassembled like that.* You were lucky that you weren't activated when he did strip you for parts... It's bad enough just being there for it. At least Flash will have family to help him get through this mess... He'll be jumpy due to what he was being disassembled for though. *Quick actually looks a bit angry at that thought but doesn't actually elaborate on this comment.* I'm worried about Metal though. *Quick adds worriedly* Depending on what Wind did, I wonder if it might kinder to just not reactivate Metal...

*Air finishes marking things to be fixed and removed and double checks the list carefully before confirming that it should start the repairs. He looks over to Ballade after doing this.* Yes, that's exactly what I mean. There wasn't anything left to use for a basis for the normal chips, so Wind decided to get creative.

*Crash looks up from petting Tango on hearing the comment.* It was being controlled by someone? Man, whoever was doing it has really cruddy aim. I was thinking it was just a really stupid chip.

*Quint's quiet for a while*

I don't like the idea of not fixing someone if they can be fixed. The group I was sent out with the last time was left like that, if Dr. Wily didn't disassemble them.

But if Metal's been hurt a lot, he might not understand it's safe now.

Kind of like some of Nana's sisters were. There's one they kept in a box, and she still doesn't talk to anyone or try to move.

But, she still might get better someday. And even if Metal's been hurt a lot, he might get better too. If he has the chance.

I-I don't think we should give up. Not without at least knowing how bad it really is or if... if he'd want us to.

Good thing he won't remember it then.

*Ballade starts to go back to his book, before adding, almost absently* Someone oughtta give Wind one of his own chips and see how he likes it.

*Tango's half-listening and half-dozing as she's scratched, purring. She looks up when Crash stops for a moment, then she yawns and waits.*

*Quick stays quiet, hesitating to respond at first. He doesn't want to admit it, but he's actually scared to find out what happened.* I know we have to try at least... I know Wind has done some horrible things before, and I'm not sure I want to know how much damage he managed to do this time.

*Air sighs as he goes back to watching the progress of the CR.* Part of me thinks it would be justice to see him get the same treatment as he's given others. The rest of me says it's not worth sinking to his level to do it.

*Crash just goes back to petting the cat, not really wanting to think about this whole mess.*

*Tango is happy to help Crash not think about it*

*Ballade's gone back to his book, seemingly oblivious to his surroundings*

*Quint hugs Quick again, for a moment, and then nods at what Air said.*

I keep thinking of the choke chips used where I'm from. I wouldn't think anybody'd deserve one of those... but he comes really close. Especially if the things that set it off could be changed, so it'd hurt him if he tried to hurt any of the others.

When I'm thinking about it, I don't think I'd really do that to anyone. But when I think about what he's done, or when I'm upset... Maybe he's just lucky I don't know how.

*After a moment he adds, speaking more quietly* I don't think what I did to Kurama was sinking to his level, even though I... I made sure he went through what he did to Nana. Because he deserved it for what he did to her and her sisters. And she didn't. None of them did.

I don't know. I try not to think about it too much. *Quint lapses into silence after that*

*Quick isn't exactly comfortable with the topic of conversation.* If I got the chance, I think I'd just destroy Wind outright. No point in taking the chance that he might get out of whatever is done to him. He might even have the chips he uses made so that they don't work on him. Better to not think about it though, Quint. What's done is done.

*At this point, Air is being quiet, thinking back to what happened when he was chipped. He shivers a bit at the thought.*

*Quint just nods, and tries to think of something less disturbing to talk about*

*Ballade looks up from his book* Hey, Quint? Will Cole try to make them all pancakes too? That'd be wierd.

*he grins at Quick from where he's sitting* She made little smiley faces on them with the syrup.

Or are they gonna stay somewhere else? It wouldn't be good to go back to where they were attacked at, would it?

*Ballade seems to be on one of his more stable moods at the moment*

*Air tries to push the thoughts that he had out of his mind. It's over now. Nothing to worry about now. The chip is gone.*

*Quick smiles a bit.* A friend of yours, Quint?

*Quick sounds a little worried.* As for where we're staying, I'm not sure. The only definite backup hiding places I had found were in our universe, and Air wouldn't be safe in any of them... Get rid of the armor and hide the markings and me and Crash wouldn't be recognized. Never did anything for Wily out of armor that we were caught for. Air doesn't have that luxury. And now there is two more of us to worry about. *He frowns.*

*Quint almost looks embarrased for a moment* Sort of. We're friends, but...

She's kind of my foster-mom, because when I turned up in the Nexus I was found by some sort of multiversal branch of Child Welfare, and they kinda wanted to be sure I was staying with someone.

She understands I'm not really a kid, though, so she doesn't mind if I'm not home all the time.

I know a lot of other places to stay, too, because I was sort of moved around a lot at first and there was also a time for a while when I wouldn't stay anywhere because I still had a tracking device in me and didn't want to risk it.

*He smiles reassuringly at Quick* We'll find a place. It'd be kind of crowded at Cole's, but there's also over at Triv's. I work there, cleaning and trying to do something about the gardens, and she said it was ok if people stayed over.

And then there's the Inn that Brax's parents have. And a lot of various places in the Nexus. And one wierd other little pocket-dimension I found once that has a town in it. I think the people there are the same as Ice's foster-mom, but I don't know for sure if that's where he lives now.

*Ballade stifles snickers at Quint's 'foster care' situation* People keep thinking Quint's a cute little kid.

Even those CPS people do, and they know about us and have all kinds of news clippings and stuff.

I think they're nuts.

*Quick snickers.* Those people have to be at least a little crazy. I can't think of a single one of us from my universe who hadn't killed humans at some point. It's probably not much different in yours. We were made to kill. It doesn't really matter that you do look young... Well, at least they don't want you scrapped.

*Quick pauses and nods.* Good to know we have options. The people in these places won't object to a bunch of Wilybots being around?

*Air watches the progress of the repairs quietly. He's gotten his mind off of the more distressing thoughts by focusing on trying to figure out what to do to help with getting Flash up to date on the current situation.*

*Quint shakes his head slightly* No, that's the same. *He really doesn't want to think about some of the things he's had to do*

*He smiles a bit* None of the people in the Nexus or any of the other places seem to mind, unless they're from an alternate universe that's close enough to ours to where they know what we are already.

Otherwise, most of them... *he shrugs slightly* Even when they find out, like when I told Cole - she just blamed Dr. Wily for it, not me.

*Ballade doesn't even look up from his book as he nods* Uh huh. Supposed to if they get in your way, or get too close to the Castle. Or sometimes just because.

*he frowns slightly* They mess up the explosions though, because they're all squishy.

*Quick nods.* I could almost see the point in blaming Wily. It's not like we wanted to kill those people. We were ordered to. What choice was there? Do it and survive, or refuse and be treated like Flash was supposed to have been. A traitor. Not that Flash did actually anything of the sort...

*Air shivers a little as he starts paying attention to the conversation again. He looks back at the progress. Almost done.*

*Crash sounds slightly disgusted.* No point in killing most of the poor fools. All they did was get in Wily's way. *He pauses, a bit thoughtful.* And I noticed that about the Nexus too... The only people that really seemed to care that I'm a Wilybot were from similar universes. Like when I ran into what I think was your universe's version of Roll. At least, that was the impression I got from Blues at the time. I wasn't even in armor at the time. Just told her my name is Crash and she panicked. *Crash snickers.*

Uh huh. Except we couldn't even refuse, really. if you try to disobey, the choke chip kicks in and it hurts a lot. And if you still manage, then you'll lock up. And if he catches anyone like that...

*Quint shivers* Well, I don't think he has yet, because none of us that I know have gotten that far, except for Ice and Ballade, and they were both in the Nexus when it happened, so he didn't catch them.

But they'd be scrapped or core-wiped and completely reprogrammed.

*Quint nods slightly* Nobody in the Nexus seems to mind much. If they're from a similar universe, they do. And there seem to, um... well, there's a couple universes or something where we're *he debates how to put this, and just flat out says it* We're a video game. I find the idea kind of sick, really. It wasn't that entertaining from my perspective. But I've got fanboyed once, and I also had someone throw things at me and say I 'wasn't canon'.

But other than that, nobody will really mind at all. Nobody at any of the places I've stayed has.

It's funny watching Quint trying to explain that he's older than me. *Ballade snickers*

Nobody minds at all. And some of them are really nice, too. It's wierd.

*Tango nuzzles Crash's face and purrs reassuringly. It's over now. No more nasty orders from Wily.*

*Quick sighs.* The others couldn't refuse. We could have once we no longer had to listen to Wily. But really, would getting destroyed have helped anyone? Someone else would have killed the humans anyways. *sounding disgusted* A video game?

*Air sounds a bit unhappy.* I'm with you on that Quint. Not entertaining at all from one of our kind's perspective. Don't know how much fun it would have been from the blue pest's point of view either.

*Crash smiles a bit when Tango nuzzles him.* Good to know that we'll be able to find a place to stay where we won't be attacked as "evil Wilybots".

*Quint nods, frowning* Uh huh. A series of stupid side-scrolling games with almost no characterization, 1980's low-res graphics, and named after Mega.

I have copies of the games. I heard about them in the Nexus, and I was worried that the one Ballade was in might show what he did, and get him into trouble.

And it does. It shows him helping Mega escape...

So far I don't think anyone else from the same universe as us has found out about those games yet. If Wily does, Ballade will be in a lot of trouble.

*Ballade's lost interest in his book, looking out the entrance to the cave.* Hey, clouds!

*Seemingly oblivious to being talked about he wanders outside into the rose garden, and flops on his back in the grass to watch the clouds.*

*Quick winces at that.* I don't know exactly how your universe's Wily would react to that sort of thing but the one from our universe... Well, you can probably guess what would happen. I really hope Ballade doesn't get caught for that.

*Air looks at the screen again.* Quick, I hope you have some idea how to explain things to Flash, since he is about finished...
