*Quick snickers.* Those people have to be at least a little crazy. I can't think of a single one of us from my universe who hadn't killed humans at some point. It's probably not much different in yours. We were made to kill. It doesn't really matter that you do look young... Well, at least they don't want you scrapped.
*Quick pauses and nods.* Good to know we have options. The people in these places won't object to a bunch of Wilybots being around?
*Air watches the progress of the repairs quietly. He's gotten his mind off of the more distressing thoughts by focusing on trying to figure out what to do to help with getting Flash up to date on the current situation.*
*Quint shakes his head slightly* No, that's the same. *He really doesn't want to think about some of the things he's had to do*
*He smiles a bit* None of the people in the Nexus or any of the other places seem to mind, unless they're from an alternate universe that's close enough to ours to where they know what we are already.
Otherwise, most of them... *he shrugs slightly* Even when they find out, like when I told Cole - she just blamed Dr. Wily for it, not me.
*Ballade doesn't even look up from his book as he nods* Uh huh. Supposed to if they get in your way, or get too close to the Castle. Or sometimes just because.
*he frowns slightly* They mess up the explosions though, because they're all squishy.
*Quick nods.* I could almost see the point in blaming Wily. It's not like we wanted to kill those people. We were ordered to. What choice was there? Do it and survive, or refuse and be treated like Flash was supposed to have been. A traitor. Not that Flash did actually anything of the sort...
*Air shivers a little as he starts paying attention to the conversation again. He looks back at the progress. Almost done.*
*Crash sounds slightly disgusted.* No point in killing most of the poor fools. All they did was get in Wily's way. *He pauses, a bit thoughtful.* And I noticed that about the Nexus too... The only people that really seemed to care that I'm a Wilybot were from similar universes. Like when I ran into what I think was your universe's version of Roll. At least, that was the impression I got from Blues at the time. I wasn't even in armor at the time. Just told her my name is Crash and she panicked. *Crash snickers.*
Uh huh. Except we couldn't even refuse, really. if you try to disobey, the choke chip kicks in and it hurts a lot. And if you still manage, then you'll lock up. And if he catches anyone like that...
*Quint shivers* Well, I don't think he has yet, because none of us that I know have gotten that far, except for Ice and Ballade, and they were both in the Nexus when it happened, so he didn't catch them.
But they'd be scrapped or core-wiped and completely reprogrammed.
*Quint nods slightly* Nobody in the Nexus seems to mind much. If they're from a similar universe, they do. And there seem to, um... well, there's a couple universes or something where we're *he debates how to put this, and just flat out says it* We're a video game. I find the idea kind of sick, really. It wasn't that entertaining from my perspective. But I've got fanboyed once, and I also had someone throw things at me and say I 'wasn't canon'.
But other than that, nobody will really mind at all. Nobody at any of the places I've stayed has.
*Quick sighs.* The others couldn't refuse. We could have once we no longer had to listen to Wily. But really, would getting destroyed have helped anyone? Someone else would have killed the humans anyways. *sounding disgusted* A video game?
*Air sounds a bit unhappy.* I'm with you on that Quint. Not entertaining at all from one of our kind's perspective. Don't know how much fun it would have been from the blue pest's point of view either.
*Crash smiles a bit when Tango nuzzles him.* Good to know that we'll be able to find a place to stay where we won't be attacked as "evil Wilybots".
*Quint nods, frowning* Uh huh. A series of stupid side-scrolling games with almost no characterization, 1980's low-res graphics, and named after Mega.
I have copies of the games. I heard about them in the Nexus, and I was worried that the one Ballade was in might show what he did, and get him into trouble.
And it does. It shows him helping Mega escape...
So far I don't think anyone else from the same universe as us has found out about those games yet. If Wily does, Ballade will be in a lot of trouble.
*Quick winces at that.* I don't know exactly how your universe's Wily would react to that sort of thing but the one from our universe... Well, you can probably guess what would happen. I really hope Ballade doesn't get caught for that.
*Air looks at the screen again.* Quick, I hope you have some idea how to explain things to Flash, since he is about finished...
*Quint glances over at the computer screen. He'd been distracted by the conversation and hadn't been watching the progress. He smiles, relieved that it seems that Flash will be ok.*
*Quick looks up, a bit surprised at that.* He is? Great. I think I have a few ideas, just not sure whether it would be better to tell him how long he's been down and what's happened since or that none of us can go back ever again.
*Crash looks a little worried.* Hate to say it Quick, but both of those sound like very unpleasant things to wake up to.
*Air is sounding a little annoyed.* Alright, you just work that out fast, alright? *He watches as the CR completes and the grate begins to raise.* Make that very fast guys...
*Quick just moves over to wait and see what Flash does when he is reactivated.*
((Sorry for the shortish post. I had a final, and it's moving day for me. Well, more like leaving for Winter break til next semester. Probably won't be getting back to this til sometime tonight. :( Sorry about that.))
*Quick nods.* I'd forgotten about that. It might be best to start there. Especially with what was going to happen...
*Air stays put, not sure exactly how to deal with this. Quick and Crash can handle it probably.*
*Crash shrugs.* A lot of things worse to wake up to. And you're definitely right about bad news being better than not waking up at all.
*As the grate finishes rising, Flash's systems are slowly reactivating and running through the standard checks. Only two things showing up as not normal. Status of weapons system: Offline. Status of teleportion system: Offline. Flash starts to slowly process what's happened. He shivers, not bothering to look around. Only thing that he can figure is that Wily must have got to him before the others finished and reactivated him.*
*Quick is actually sounding a bit nervous.* Flash, you're safe now. You don't have to worry anymore. You aren't going to be recycled.
((Took longer to get home than I expected due to a snowstorm.))
*Quint remembers he'd reacted almost the same - don't look, don't move, and try to brace himself for the pain. That the first voice he'd heard was Dr. Wily's really hadn't helped.*
*And if he'd heard one of the others, would he have thought it was a trick? Possibly, depending on who.*
*It's one of those situations where an unfamiliar voice actually might help at first, and yet Quint is hesitant to intrude.*
*After a moment he steps forward and speaks, quietly and shyly, but not frightened* It's ok, oniisan. You're not where you probably think you are. It's safe here.
*Flash looks up, a bit startled at the unfamiliar voice. He had been a bit wary at how nervous Quick sounded. On actually looking around the place, he realizes that this is definitely not where he thought he was. He's still confused, and a bit uneasy. Beyond the weapons and teleporter being deactivated, something doesn't seem right in his systems.* What's going on?
*Quick speaks quietly.* We reactivated you. It's safe here, Flash. Trust me. No one here is going to hurt you. Wily isn't here.
*Quint tries to smile - though truth be told he's wary of meeting a new 'sibling', even an alternate, from past experience. Some were ok. Others, well, he looked like and often had been an easy target for the more tempermental ones. Even in his own universe, he was one of the smallest.*
*Flash isn't exactly the most trusting about this.* Why'd Lord Wily let you reactivate me? *He looks over at Quint, glaring a bit.* And who the hell are you?
*Quick glares back, having expected Flash to be a little bit touchy.* Flash, cool it. Quint doesn't deserve to be on the receiving end of one of your damn temper tantrums. *Sounding uneasy* As for Wily... He didn't exactly let us do it...
*Crash sighs, a bit annoyed. He'd almost forgotten that Flash tended to be a bit high strung at times.*
*As for Air, he's a bit nervous about getting in Flash's way right now. At least Quick will be able to get Flash back to behaving himself without much trouble.*
*Flash glares right back at Quick but decides it's a good idea just to back down for now. He doesn't have any real way to defend himself now anyways, so perhaps it's better to not anger Quick. Then it sinks in what Quick said.* Lord Wily didn't give you permission to reactivate me? Then why am I activated? I shouldn't be... I should have been a pile of parts.
*Quick speaks softly.* It's been a long time since you were deactivated. Things have changed a lot since then.
*Crash sounds a bit annoyed at Quick's way of dancing around the issue at hand.* Flash, we can't go back. It's not safe to. For any of us.

Even those CPS people do, and they know about us and have all kinds of news clippings and stuff.
I think they're nuts.

Usually one of the first things we ask is how long it's been, but that's probably cause of the Gallery.
