It matters, Flash. And you don't have to go back to him. Not ever.
I know the laws are messed up, and the way Wily does things is even worse, but just because you make someone doesn't mean you own them, or at least it shouldn't.
You don't belong to him any more, Flash. You don't have to go back.
*Flash looks even more confused.* I don't have to go back? *It finally hits him what didn't feel right.* Why aren't I hurting for thinking like this? I shouldn't be allowed to do this... Lord Wily wouldn't like it.
*Quick nods firmly.* They're right, Flash. You don't have to go back. *He smirks a little.* You won't have to worry about hurting for thinking thoughts that he wouldn't like ever again.
*Crash smiles, glad things are starting to sink in.* You'll get used to it. We all did.
*Air sighs before adding his own comment.* We took care of the physical problems, Flash. Time will do the rest.
*Flash shivers, a little frightened at the thought. Freedom is such an alien concept to his mind. Also, the strangers are starting to make him feel a bit nervous.* I'm free? *He pauses a bit to think about it.* Well, I guess that is a good thing... I didn't want Lord Wily to recycle me. I didn't do anything wrong...
*Quick sounds a bit angry.* The old man was paranoid. Besides, we knew that what happened was just bad luck on your part. You were just unfortunate enough to have been one of the ones on guard duty at the time.
*Crash sounds a bit frustrated by this point.* Would you stop calling him that, Flash? You don't need to worry about hurting for not doing it, so just stop it.
*Air sighs, deciding it might be a good idea to start the explanations.* Wily's replaced us since you were deactivated. He doesn't need any of us anymore. Not even me, and I did the repair work...
*Waspinator doesn't say anything else for now, but stays in the room so he can help move Metal when it's time. Until then, he looks around the nearby makeshift kitchen for some of those low-sugar cookies he had*
*Quint knows he can't really help much with this part of the explanations, as he doesn't know all of what's happened in the universe the others are from. Plus, it might be best to distract Ballade so that the younger RKN doesn't slip and mention the Nexus or alternate dimensions just yet. Flash was going to have enough to get used to*
*He looks outside* I don't think it's going to rain yet, Ballade. It's just cloudy. *He smiles* Want to go see if we can find anything interesting outside?
*Flash looks a little unhappy at this piece of information.* So we aren't needed any more.
*Quick sighs.* Wily has made others, some of which are just trouble waiting to happen. We ended up having to leave because of some problems with one of them. A rather nasty one called Wind Man. A lot of our brothers have been recycled lately due to him.
*Crash smirks a little.* Yea, but due to that same bastard's messing around, we managed to get your body back. *He looks over at Metal's body, before commenting worriedly.* We have Metal's too, but we're not sure what kind of condition he's in.
*Air decides that it might be better for the others to explain things while he starts to check over Metal. He starts to go over to Metal's body.* Quick, Crash, I think you two can do the explanations better than I can. Better if I start to work on Metal. *Actually, he wants to see firsthand what they are going to have to deal with.*
*Quint's follows Ballade out of the cave. For now he thinks it will be the most helpful to the others if he keeps his younger brother busy and out of the way. Luckily, Ballade is easily distracted.*
*Flash winces a bit on noticing what Crash was looking at.* What happened to him? Is he going to be okay? *He lets part of what was said sink* How did you guys just leave? *nervously* There isn't any place where we'd be safe. All it takes is one person seeing us. What is this place anyways?
*Quick looks a bit uncertain.* I don't really know what kind of shape he in beyond the poor physical. Wind had him. I don't know if he's okay or not.
*Crash decides to start handling the other questions.* We stayed in a warehouse for a while, being careful to not be seen. As it is right now, we're going to be moving elsewhere as soon as possible. We've found a way to get to places where people wouldn't even know who we are. As for where we are now, don't worry about it. We're safe here, and that's all that really matters.
*Air replies quietly* Yes. No point in hesitating over it. Flash seems to be handling things well enough, and I'd like to know exactly what we'll be dealing with in the way of damage. *He's actually more worried about the damage they'll be dealing with after the repairs rather than the repairs themselves.*
*Waspinator nods and reaches to pick Metal up. He blinks as he looks at the xeno* Little xeno has sharp pointy bits. *Waspinator is extra careful as he lifts Metal gently to carry him over to the CR and place him on the grating*
*Flash is definitely feeling a bit overwhelmed here. And more than a bit upset about Metal, though he's trying to hide it.* How the hell could somebody not know who we are? We were all over the damn news as Lord Wily's killing machines. That's all they ever called us...
*Quick sighs.* I'm not sure of how to put this, but we found a place called the Nexus. It connects our universe with others. Including some where we don't exist. I've even met alternate versions of some of us.
*At this point, Crash decides to be quiet and doesn't point out that Flash did what he told him to stop again. Quick is going to be better at explaining this mess.*
*Air sighs.* Sorry about that. I'm kind of used to it by now, and don't really think that much about the sharp parts. *He goes back over to the chair, ready to see the mess of things needing fixed.*
*Flash just stares at Quick.* You're just trying to mess with my head, aren't you? That can't be real...
*Quick is getting a bit angry.* It's real. Every single one of us here can vouch for that being true. Besides, why would I lie about something like that.
*Air looks over at Quint, chuckling softly* Nobody is right all the time Quint. *He starts looking at the scan of Metal, starting to get worried.* Well, guys, the good news is that Wind didn't pull anything out when he put his little toy into place. *He goes silent at that, starting to sort through the mess of alterations put into place by Wind. This isn't going to be easy, and there will be after effects, seeing as the personality matrix and memory systems are both connected to Wind's chip. It's just a nicer, more carefully done version of what was in Air.*
*Flash just gets quiet on hearing Waspinator's confirmation. Flash is actually getting a bit scared at all of the news he's received today. It's difficult to process all of it at one time too.*
*Quick sighs, shaking his head.* He doesn't believe me about the Nexus, Ballade.
*Crash snickers a little.* Come on, Flash. Do you really think there would still be a place like this left in our world?
*Air responds to Quint, forgetting to hide the concern in his voice about what he's dealing with.* Good to know. *He continues trying to sort out the alterations and added parts, which seems to be rather extensive now.*

That's right, you're free. Like you should be. And I believe you have people who care about you. For their sake alone, you shouldn't crawl back.
